Recently, I was asked to do a signing as a local author to establish a new library in a tri town area. I accepted, although I would have to juggle sleep and work. As a newbie to the promoting part of this business, I explore every avenue. How can I turn down ice cream?
When I asked why I was invited, I was told it was a petition signing to get a new library.
‘Great way to promote my book’, I thought. But, when I looked at the bigger picture. My book would be only one book upon thousands of others to choose from for the youth of the area. Wouldn’t my support of this dream of a library lead to the betterment of mankind in a small way?
Sometimes I buy ice-cream on the way to work anyway, but this day…who knows?
