In the business of real estate, it’s location, location, location. In the novel business it’s timing, timing, timing. I have been wasting time. It’s time to put on my big boy pants. I’ve been at this a long time.
No that’s not what I mean. What I’m talking about is useing the (Bogus) hype about the end of the Myan callender to sell my apocolyptic novel.
“The Second Intelligent Species” should have been done by now. Procrastination is my weekness. My Alpha team has been a great asset to my revision process, but waiting for them to read and give comments takes time. They have been more than patient when I am late for a self imposed deadline.
The team seems to like the route the book is going. If I stay on course, I won’t be done till summer.
I love to work outside in the spring, and I’m affraid my inside work won’t get the attention it needs.
I’ve decided to take a week’s vacation to finish the revisions, after which I will send the final copy to my editor. I am working with a graphic artist on the cover.
Each stage of the project requires extensive research, and patience. Once the first novel is on the table, the rest will follow. I see a second career in my future.
Watch for the cover of “The Second Intelligent Species” soon.
